| Work Week Management is a deliberate process, in which a scope of work is identified, selected, planned, scheduled, executed, closed and critiqued. The process provides the fundamental structure for efficient use of station resources as well as overall improvement of equipment condition. Access to the right data and tools enables flexible working. Engineering input provides standard, repeatable solutions to problems, making them available to all locations. Perhaps most importantly, demonstration of regulatory compliance is made easier by ensuring that plant configuration is always supported by current documentation and that suitably qualified personnel are in post. Work management covers the entire range of activities from placing contracts to ordering stores; from data recording to producing reports; from arranging meetings to planning outages. By participating in the work week management process at Sizewell B PWR (UK) and experiencing the process in its full capacity, the authors were able to make an evaluation from a fresh perspective. This paper describes Work Week Management from scope to delivery as well as the current implementation within the company structure. The recent restructuring effort on site is discussed with its relevance to improving the work management process. Several future improvements are also detailed. |
