The EPRA Trump Card in Europes Nuclear Renaissance
Author: Barre, Bertrand
Co-Author(s):

This article commences with the reasons why nuclear generated electricity is essential to modify the greenhouse effect and continues by proposing that such nuclear plants should be of the EPR type (EPR until now has been the acronym for the European Pressurised-water Reactor but the author would prefer it to mean Evolutionary Power Reactor). The EPR has evolved from German and French PWRs mostly commissioned during the 1990s and the article compares the characteristics of these 'parent' designs with that of the EPR. The article concludes with an outline of current EPR projects.
