C&I Legacy Systems: A View from the sharp end
Author: Lees, Mark
Co-Author(s):

C&l systems are utilised extensively in industry, the nuclear industry being no different than anywhere else. The special demands on nuclear systems has, however, led to tried and tested systems being specified, with many systems being effectively obsolescent by the time they are originally commissioned. This has exacerbated the problems associated with legacy C&l equipment in the nuclear industry. This paper considers the problems associated with legacy C&l system management from the perspective of an end user. The paper explains the issues and problems encountered by a C&l Engineer involved in the maintaining of a safe and reliable C&l system in a nuclear power station environment and how these problems are managed.
